I am an out-of-network provider. If your insurance plan includes out-of-network benefits, you can submit an itemized superbill for reimbursement. Please keep in mind that reimbursement amounts vary depending on your insurance carrier and specific plan, and payment is never guaranteed.
I understand that cost can be a barrier to getting the care you need. If you do not have insurance or out-of-network benefits, additional financing options are available. Please reach out to discuss.

No. New York is a direct access state, meaning you can begin physical therapy without a prescription. However, a referral is required by state law after 10 visits or 30 days, whichever comes first.
-
The first visit begins with a conversation. I want to hear about your symptoms, your health history, and goals.
I will then do a physical assessment of mobility, strength and specific functional movements. If appropriate, and something you feel comfortable with, I may perform an internal pelvic exam.
After that, we will discuss your individualized plan of care, which may include manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, mobility work, strengthening, mindfulness, breath work, therapeutic exercise, among other approaches.
We will end the session with at least one home practice you can begin right away on your own.
-
No, you do not ever have to have an internal pelvic exam.
While internal treatment can be helpful for assessing function, strength and tension of the pelvic floor, it is always optional, requires your consent at each visit, and can always be skipped or postponed.
-
Yes. There are no contraindications to internal pelvic treatment while you are having your period. However, this is a decision we can make together and depends entirely on your comfort level. There are always manual and movement treatments we can do that do not require internal pelvic treatment.

During your first visit we will review any relevant health history and discuss your goals. I will want to know about your previous experience with the Pilates method (if any) and other movement and exercise practices you have. I will gather information about your movement patterns, and we will review foundational elements of Pilates such as breathing and balanced core engagement. No prior Pilates experience is necessary — we start where you are.

Sessions are 55 minutes long.
